Suspension Secrets Front Offset Caster Bushes – BMW M3 / M4 (G80/G82)
Looking to dial in your suspension geometry?
Experience increased cornering grip, improved steering feel, and greater braking stability with Suspension Secrets BMW G80/G82 M3/M4 Front Offset Caster Bushes.
Key Benefits
- Increased positive caster
- Increased cornering grip through dynamic camber gain
- Improved steering feel and accuracy
- Added stability under heavy braking
- Greater control over front suspension geometry
- Helps optimize wheel position when running caster-adjustable top mounts
Suspension Secrets Front Offset Caster Bushes replace the soft OEM BMW rubber bushes with a solid design featuring offset rose joints.
The solid construction eliminates unwanted bushing flex, while the offset design increases positive caster. This improves steering response and generates additional dynamic negative camber as steering angle increases, helping maintain front-end grip during cornering.
These bushes are particularly useful for G80/G82 owners running caster-adjustable top mounts. Aggressive caster settings can move the front wheel within the wheel arch and cause contact with the inner liner. The offset bushes can help reposition the wheel while retaining the desired caster setting at the top mount.
Further Reading
The OEM rubber bushes are designed with refinement, durability, and low noise in mind, making them well suited to everyday road use. Under performance driving, however, the rubber can flex during hard cornering and braking, allowing unwanted suspension movement that can contribute to understeer, reduced steering precision, and braking instability.
The offset rose joint also provides additional control over caster geometry. Increasing positive caster generates greater dynamic negative camber on the outside front wheel during cornering, helping maintain a better tire contact patch and increasing front-end grip.
For vehicles equipped with caster-adjustable top mounts, the offset design provides another way to balance caster angle and wheel position, allowing more aggressive suspension geometry while helping maintain clearance with the inner wheel arch liner.
Caster
Caster is the measure of how far forward or behind the steering axis is to the vertical axis, viewed from the side. This is measured by drawing a line between the top and bottom pivot points of the front upright. The angle between the drawn line and vertical is the caster angle
Technical Specifications
Suspension Secrets G80/G82 M3/M4 Competition Solid Suspension Bushes are designed and manufactured in the UK.
The bushes are CNC-machined from billet 6082-T6 aluminium, with the rubber inserts sourced from a renowned high-performance OEM manufacturer.
Geometry
Suspension geometry refers to the positioning and angular movement of the suspension components and how those movements affect the wheel and tyre.
As the suspension arms and other components move through their designed paths, they create changes in wheel position and alignment. These movements influence how forces are transferred through the tyre and ultimately affect steering response, handling, stability, and overall suspension performance.
Product Development
All Suspension Secrets upgrades are designed, developed and manufactured in-house. This process includes prototyping new products using CAD and 3D printing technology, and extensive rear-world testing with professional racing drivers. Sophisticated motorsport data capturing equipment allows the team to measure the handling performance gains achieved by Suspension Secrets parts.
